I am swapping rocks into my 77 chevy k10. I have a couple questions.

1. Is anyone running rocks in a 73-87 chevy? If you are, I have a few questions before I get started.

2. So I've been noticing there are pinion brakes that go on the driveshaft side of the pinion, and others on the side opposite the driveshaft. Would it be beneficial to run two pinion brakes on each diff? One on the driveshaft side and one on the opposite side? I have never seen this done. Just a thought I had.

Thanks,
Adam

were putting a set under an 82 blazer now. we have just installed some under an 82 longbed chevy last year. we built these for grudge pulls and deep mud not really for trails.
on the pinion brakes you can put them on the driveshaft side or the other side. it does not matter.
as far as using one on both sides, you are just wasting your money, one pinion brake will stand your vehicle on its nose if it doesnt slide the tires first. if your going to do much road driving you will need wheel brakes. pinion brakes get really hot and are very touchy at speed.
what do you plan on doing with your vehicle? i will be glad to help you with advice or parts or whatever. if youd like to come by the shop i can show you about 5 different vehicles on rockwells to give you some ideas on what works and what doesnt. send me a pm if interested in coming by.
