Seems every Jeep I see on the roadways these days doesn't have a spare tire cover. My thinking is a cover will delay the eventual dryrot/cracking I've experenced on mine over the years. Happened quicker where I lived in the 4 corners area but it's a problem here as well. So, what gives? Roving gangs stealing them (LOL)? Fly off while driving the interstate? Not worth $30 or so dollars? Just curious - what are your thoughts?

I guess I've just never put THAT much thought into it...

I got tired of replacing mine,it kept blowing off on the interstate. My wife bought one for her CJ and I told her she was wasting her money but the dang thing has been on there 3 years now.

I just quit mall crawling and decided they weren't worth it for a real rig!!!!

Thought about it once, but nobody made them big enough for my tires. Haven't checked in years. Now my tires aren't so big, they might have them to fit now.

They don't make them for a 42"...

and I don't carry a spare on the Jeep.

They don't usually fit the bigger tires, and if you get a matching spare, just cycle it through when you rotate the tires, and dry rot won't really be an issue.
