RQ, next time you driving on S. Wendover Rd., right at Overhill Rd intersection, there's someone on the corner lot, with a nice Jeepster! Green body, white top. I even found it on Google maps, & look like it's a Reality Office. 1839 S Wendover Rd.

Since we were doing lists the other day, here's mine for "ready to shake down"

Jeepster To do 5/12/24

Rear end:
Paint the cover and Put it on.
Fill with fluid.

Square up rear end.
Move top shock mounts in wards.
Create crossbar for shocks.
Cut inner fenders for shocks.
Build driveshaft

Transfer Case:
Fill with Oil,
Make new shifters work, which will include cutting up and re-engineering.

Transmission:
Put shifter in.
Fill with Oil.
Put transmission tunnel cover back on and cut to fit as needed.

Front end:
Build top link.
Engineer and build Panhard bar.
Cycle suspension.
Install coil overs with lower and upper mounts.
Once front end has been cycled and is in place, pull it out and disassemble for welding.
Build permanent lower links pan bar, and top link, (PVC now)
Install bump stops.

Front diff: put my Dana 60 differential cover on and fill with oil.

Front of Jeep,:
Build fenders and tie into the front end and the shock towers.
Install the steering orbital
REPAIR steering shaft at same time.
Run flex lines to the ram and install ram.
Build the steering rods that run from the ram to the knuckles.
Find a suitable electric fan and shroud
Remove the door hinges and straighten the driver side panel.
Paint front differential after final welding and complete build.
On the front shocks buy new springs

Other:
Polish the rest of the beadlock rims and mount the tires with airsoft beads installed and gorilla tape around rims.
Repair exhaust on passenger side.
Consider a skid plate for the Transfer Case.

That I need immediately:
orbital box mount,
connector between the orbital and the steering shaft,
Front shock hoops
Steering reservoir and cooler
22”x 6.5 Shroud and fan
Bumpstop cans
Front coilover springs

Since our last installment things went kinda south. While checking placement for the front top link I finally saw why my motor was tilted. Frame twist/bend. I knew there was an issue but could never put my eyes on the exact problem. As I was looking down the frame from the front I saw it. Right side rail is bowed outwards some and drivers side is about an inch higher than the passenger side. So I got my trusty old Ford 340 and mashed on it with a few strategically placed jack stands to send the bends where I wanted it...hopefully. It didnt work perfectly but its a lot closer now. The original cross member was in bad shape and in the way of the upper mounts on the axle so it had to go.
Jeepster frames are fairly thin so I boxed it with an emergency steel order (thanks @DannyH ) and was able to put the new cross member in place. Once it is burned in I can go back a few weeks to final link mount placement and cycling the 60 and hopefully moving forward after that.

This square tube is just tacked in to keep rails in place and the right distance apart. The 2" DOM is the new cross member

Tractor frame work is always fun. Experimental S.W.A.G and repurposed equipment is oddly satisfying.
