In the market for a 4.0 motor. Thought, why not get a stroker? This company has ads on Craigslist, and I'm wondering if anyone has used them before. They're in Cary, so its local. Wondering if its the same garbage machine shop that screwed people over a few years back? Can't recall the company name, but this company doesn't look like its been around long.

Or I'll get a donor 4.0 and build a poor mans stroker myself. Thoughts? Opinions? It'll be going in a turbo Cherokee on low boost.

Do it! I'm on like year 14 of my stroker, and still happy with it.

The stroker was the best thing I ever did. Build mine in fall of 05. Still kicking. (Knock on wood)

Honestly, I know you, I would do it yourself just get a good shop to do the machine work. It’s a fun project that’s not too difficult at all.

My buddy has a 4.0 stroker he had built years ago and has been sitting on an engine stand. He lost interest and may sell it at a good price. Let me know and I will send you his info.

That would be great! I’m interested.

That’s the work I can’t do, decking the block to get quench right and ensuring the donor or current block and heads are in good shape. Not looking to go extreme, the turbo can make up for lost power. And I don’t want a lot of compression, so a budget build may be right up my alley.

74 k5, tons, 42s, full cage, LS swap in process. Small fire last time out (in november '17)

I was going to build my own stroker with all parts from Titan Engines in Ocala, Fl. For a $300 assembly fee, they will put it all together and give you a three year warranty. That's the route I went and have been extremely pleased...

Did you ship them your block/heads, or basically just buy a complete engine from them?

I was living in Miami at the time. I drove up there with a complete disassembled engine to use as a core swap on the block. They wound up keeping everything and doing all of the work and then shipping it back to me. Shipping was only $100 from Ocala to Miami so I would guess it would be under $250 to get it here...likely less. I have known a lot of people with Titan engines...Chuck builds a solid motor...
