I am now dumber from reading all of this.
I have this to add, I've been in business for the last 4 years building nothing but 4wd vehicles. I'll sell a RE lift for anyone that wants to have a reliable lift for a DD and WW. RC goes on a customers Jeep that has a very tight budget and just wants to look better driving around town but not to go offroad. I too have taken off many RC to put on RE for the exact reason Andy mentioned. Andy also has WAY more experience on this particular area then I do. If I was going to listen to anyone on this forum about the difference between RC and RE it would be him.
