My RE1660 track bar has some play in it, I think I'll rebuild it. The axle end uses a poly bushing , and the frame side has the Super-Flex joint. It looks like I can get the races for fairly cheap. Is there any workaround where standard tools can be used, or do I need to find a RE3772 SUPER-FLEX TOOL?

Also, I hear a lot of crap about RE joints...is there any other/better joint I can fit in my RE TB?

Tony, you CAN use a hammer and chisel. I have in the past, but you can't preload them correctly. But, you make a tool using a flat piece of stock, drill 2 holes the distance the recesses in the threaded adjuster are apart, install 2 bolts that fit in the recesses and then weld a 3/8" socket to the stock. I made one for the large RE joints back in the day, worked fine.
