Rubicon Trail temporarily closed due to fire

Murphy's law bites again. I was supposed to be on the Rubicon trail this weekend for the first time, but it is closed due to a very large and growing fire approaching the area. I hope there is something left after the fire. I was supposed to ride the trail over Labor Day weekend but had to fly home to NC to attend a family funeral. In the not too distant future apparently snow can start to fall there so I am not sure when I will have a chance to check out this trail.

I will tell you from experience the rubicon is awesome with snow on the ground
