Rubicon Trail

Some friends and I are in the planning stages of trip to the Rubicon this September. I was curious if anyone has ever done the Rubicon trail and could offer any hints or insights.

Are you thinking in and back, or straight through? If you're trailering in and leaving tow rigs at Loon, you'll have to shuttle or street drive back after you're done.

September weather is a bit unpredictable. Could be clear and pleasant, could be wet and even snowy.

The plan is straight through, We have a semi trailer that is dropping us off at the beginning trail or the lake Tahoe arear, then picking us at the end then headed to the Moab and Buena Vista. We are still locking everything down.

I'm a little worried about the weather but since the semi/trailer has to be in Buena Vista for the super celebration West we are locked into that time.

Just curious how many days did take you to do it? We hear between 2 and 3 full days.

We spent the better part of a week on the trail. Base camped at the box and drove around from there.
