running xj w/ no exhaust?

Ok.. could someone please bring me to my senses and convince me that it will be BAD to run ECORS races with no exhaust on the 4.0 xj.


mine is all jacked up after the farm ride and it needs some major fixin.Its contacting the front d-shaft now. I'm having thoughts of pulling it off and runnin' loud.

what all will this hurt...besides Slades ears when I pass him?

depends where it ends.. the heat has to go somewhere, so fuel lines, wires can get too hot..

thats how i blew my clutch at the first ecors race manifold leak softened the clutch line and it ruptured.

also you gotta think of the exhaust coming into the cab... call Larry, he'll get you fixed up...

the driver and navigator will be wearing helmets...noise won't bother you. Others...well, dunno.

Check the rule book pf the sanctioning body of the any competition you plan to enter. Many have rules requiring a muffler

Run a muffler, it sucks even with a helment on during the race.....

No...turns out that when I got hung up at the farm it all shifted and is now hitting the front and rear driveshafts.
Sounds like crap with all the metal on metal hitting. The exhaust still sounds fine and I dont think the header is cracked at all... the pipes are just bent.

If the header isnt cracked yet, it will be soon, especially if ya keep letting the front driveshaft hit the downpipe.

but if you're trying to communicate back and forth it will cause additional problems.

Got some good news today. The exhaust problem will be solved at Larry's Muffler Shop.
My little buddy Larry is gonna fix me right up!
