Okay, so I bought this 98 Cherokee Classic for $750, it had a blown engine and the body was good, or so I thought. Long story short when removing the "functioning" 10 disk CD Changer I discovered that the previos owner had drilled through the floor and after having it up North for 3 years on and off (6 monthes spent in Ohio and the other 6 spent in N.C.) the floor in that area has rusted one hole about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and the surrounding metal is pitted. Here are my two methods of what I figure I will do:

1. Use POR-15 and their Fiberglass sheeting called POWERMESH
OR
2. Cut and weld in new metal

My oil change is coming up in about 600 or so miles and Engine Experts, the shop that did my engine swap said they would look at it but coludn't promise that they would be able to do anything about it. I would rather not loose my Jeep to this tiny littel hole which is actually not as bad as I thought it was when I first saw it, the rest of the jeep's body is in great shape.

Mainly I'm wondering if anyone in Raleigh can help me after I go for my oil change and figure out what I want to do, if I decide to go for the new metal, which would be the best route, then I would need someone's help. Also has anyone on here used POR-15, what was your results?

I would do that but I want to do a "cheap" but lastly fix, and I don't have access to a welder. Maybe when I take it to EE they will be able to point me in the right direction of someone or someway of getting it fixed for less than $250, and they said they would take a look at it and see what they could do, they straightend the frame on my moms minivan when the back bumper got hit, so its a possibility....... BUT I have heard good about POR-15 and its ability to fix the problem. If I go the POR-15 route then I will pull the carpet from the interior and bedline it!!!!! yeah baby!!!!!

remove loose rust(wirebrush), rust converter on remaining rust, fiberglass or sheet metal w/ pop rivets, cover sheet metal or fiberglass w/ rubber roofing compound or similar on bottom
