My 07 dodge has small rust bubble at top of each back fender. I'd like to have it fixed properly. I've had the truck almost 9 years and plan to keep it forever so I don't mind paying for very quality work. Anybody have recommendations for a shop within a couple hours of me.

There are a couple good restoration shops in the W-S area that I know of that can do it and would do it right. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I can check when I get back to the office. Realistically any decent body shop should be able to do it. If it isn't all the way through the metal you should be able to just spot blast the rust out, fill/smooth the pitting and paint. If it is through the backside they obviously some patch work will be in order.

Its rusting were an inner and outter body panel meet. I would assume it has to be cut out. A local guy said he would grind rust out and use some kind of fiberglass and spray both bedsides for 800. I Just want to pay once and never worry again.

If it is rusting between panels than a section of one of the panels needs to be cut out to access in between, sand blast the rust out and patch it. Most of the time with rust you can not properly grind/sand all the rust out, surface rust maybe, but if there is any pitting you will not get it all (rust still left in the pits). Sand blast and acid wash should remove all signs of rust for the safest repair.

No fiberglass whatsoever should be used to repair rust. I hate it when I see rusty floor pans and patches covered in fiberglass. If there is any rust under the glass it will pop the and break the fiberglass repair. If it was metal to begin with, fix it with metal, if it was fiberglass to begin with than fix it with glass...

That's why I asked here. I didn't like his approach.

Well I washed my truck today and I have to get this fixed before it gets worse. @NC-V could you get me those names by any chance. Or if you're interested in doing it I don't mind the drive if you can do it.

Once it starts you won't stop it. Start looking for a good used bed. Have it painted before you install it, then sell rusting bed to a person who has one in worse shape.

It would cost me a fortune. I have linex rocker panels and by the time I pay to have all the linex stripped off and resprayed on all the rockers and inside the bed plus painting the new used bed I would imagine a professional should be able to fix it for around the same cost. I mean after all people restore classic cars all the time with rusted places correct?

Sounds like you already ruined it with the rino lined rockers...

ruined what with linex? I have no issues where the linex is. It is a design flaw in the bed. Many people had/have this issue in the 3rd gen trucks.

I don't want flares so that's not an option. I will never sell the truck so I just want to have it fixed right.

Here is a pic of the driver side. It is much worse than the passenger side.
