I'm replacing the tub on my '97 TJ and the "donor tub" has a rusted/broken body mount bolt. Bolt is snapped absolutely flush...and has the added "bonus" of a broken "easy-out" lodged in it....ALSO snapped completely flush.
I'm thinking the best way to attack this is to have someone weld a nut to the end of the broken bolt (slowly building up the weld inside of the nut....effectively creating a "new" bolt head). My problem...the POS stick welder I have won't put out enought amps to do what I need.
So.....anyone in/near the Monroe/Indian Trail area that can "hook a brotha' up"? Or come up with an alternative...short of explosives?
Thanks y'all!
