Rv battery issues

My camper stays hooked up to shore power when at home. A dedicated 30amp rv plug.

It also has solar panels and a 200ah lithium battery.

The last three times ive went to do something in it the battery has been dead. (No lights or anything working in it) charge the battery its fine, solar seems to be working fine as well charging.

I think the rv converter/ charger/ power center has gone bad. Took it to dealership to fix they said breaker was off and that was the issue. Im not typically that stupid but they won't do any more.

Anyway to test that the converter/ charger is working like it should? Or a way to test if battery is good? I think it is, it will charge up and be good for a couple weeks.

We can talk more on the phone, you got my number, but the easiest way is to plug the RV into shore power then put your meter on your battery to see if it is receiving a charge. If not then you know something somewhere isn't working. First place I would check is the circuit breaker on the tongue, they usually have a red rubber cover and since they are in the weather all the time they usually fail after a few years.

Yes and break it down to individual components if need be.
Test battery isolated, test breaker, and so on.

The charge is similar to Fire equipment being plugged in to a auto charge everytime it sits in the station. Great in theory but eventually ruins the battery no matter the tech.
 
i pulled the battery last night and hooked it up to a charger to see if it will take a charge. didnt check it this morning but it has been fine. even when the camper is in the sun and solar is going it says battery is charging and i can confirm that with the app for the battery.

Ill check the circuit breaker but i dont think it would charge with solar panels if that was bad. that is why im thinking it is the converter thats gone bad
 
Depends where your app is reading voltage from, if its directly on the battery terminals then fine, but if its connected to a bus bar or the circuit breaker terminal or really anywhere that isn't the battery itself then that "charging" voltage may not be actually getting to the battery.

The battery has an internal monitoring app. Idk what its connected to but it works if thr battery is sitting disconnected from everything
 
The converters definitely go bad. I've had to install a separate battery charge controller because the one built into the fuse panel crapped out.
 
Try to get a good schematic from mfg. with converter and solar these systems can be tricky with fuses and circuit breakers in odd places sometimes hidden behind panels etc. start with schematic and start testing.
 
Converter was bad. Tested it yesterday not getting any power to that side of things. Amazon had one over night. Took about an hour and we are good to go. Now how long it last is hard to say but it has good reviews

Are you using a surge protector pigtail when you go places? If not you should be. Campgrounds are notorious for having absolute shit when it comes to shore power hookups. Surges and brown outs are very common and it will tear your stuff up.

Yeah had one since we got it even use it when its plugged in, in the shop.


This things been a lemon since day one. Pretty sure its was only built on Fridays and hangover Mondays.
