are there any off the shelf brands out there that are not a 'lift' spring and come with a military wrap? looking for durablity, performance, and a warrantee wouldn't hurt either.

I hear a lot about the jc whitney's failing under abuse (ie why I'm looking for a mil wrap), and I think the rancho 44044's (2" lift packs) may put me up a little too tall.

All else fails I can just keep messing with my mongrel packs I'm using right now for mock-up--

Anyone know if a yota rear (48") mil wrap leaf will work with a wag main if I drilled a new hole for the pin?

TIA

Paul

Might want to try BDS Springs (Big Dicks Suspension) I don't know if they have Waggy springs or not, but they are double wrapped, and do have a warranty

I checked their catalogue but only saw lift packs. I'm going to see how much an alcan or deaver would run

Buy the 44044s and pull a leaf to lower it a little. Or build your hangers higher on the frame. I'm running them and have been pleased, but I would like it alittle lower, got to do some cutting first. Also got a pair of 7leafs with 4 rides on them and a bent main.

unless I french the hangars in they aren't getting tucked up any higher. my shackles are in the front and are mounted off the top of the frame. If I start pulling leaves it might end up too soft for the street. maybe I could just run the main and wrap leaves and then just start mixing in other leaves until I'm where I need to be.

I think you would be better in the long run to change your set up and put the shackles in the back. This will keep you from bending springs as easy. I tried running mine shackle forward for one run to help with steering clearance, but I switch them back because I came very close to bending a spring just playing around.

Salem Spring in Charlotte will make custom springs to your specs, fairly cheap.

They did my K5 springs with 4" and mil wraps, 4 spring packs ~ $250

Did not include clamps pins or bushing just leafs as I had the rest.

I thought about shackle reverse but for right now, the benefits (not having to run a cv in the front driveshaft, no cut and turn, steering clearance, etc) outway the risk of bending a spring.

I'll be making sort of C-shaped shackles for the final setup so that they will have an easier time sliding over stuff instead of hanging up and bending springs. and also the way I have them setup, they fold down against the crossmember so that if they do get hung up, they can't travel back far enough to bend the spring.

and skihi, I'll definately check them out. that sounds like an awesome price! did you give them your stock springs to rearch and add the wraps or was that just a straight up custom spring build?

I gave them cash only and left with metal.

But again. These weren't assembled just sticks of metal.

I had to clamp and install bushings myslef, these were brand new springs and they pait marked them rf1,rf2,rf3 etc so I knew how top put together,.

Been a few years, still real happy with the springs, tyhough they are not as flexy as I would like, but I specifically told them I wanted hard springs....whats a dumbass move

right on, so they have held up pretty good, and you are happy with the quality?

I'm not worried about clamps, pins or bushings. I can do that myself.
