I recently got a 88 S10 Blazer for cheap. I'm replacing the torsion bar frame mounts. I replaced the drivers side rather easily, but the passenger side is giving me a fit. With everything unbolted I can't seem to jack the rear torsion bar crossmember high enough to get the mount in place. Anyone have experience with this? Would it help if I unloaded the torsion bars? Lastly, what is the best route to take when I loosen the torsion bars all the way.

Thanks

Well, Ive always herd that the passenger side mount was a pain, but i havent had to try it myself. I would assume that it would make it easier to have both ends of the crossmeber unbolted. If you are going to release the bars use the tool that you can rent from Advance Auto, its the best way to do it.

Rent a ball joint press from Autozone, that'll help.
