well Im in school right now and a lot of those are really inaccurate. Im sure there have been extreme cases that are out of the ordinary to fit every one of those scenarios, but in reality those are inaccurate. My breakdown from my average public school upbringing: 1 is true (I've had a friend who just had a knife in his car and someone found out and he got suspended; I would never bring my shotgun to school tho), 2 is false (two teachers split up the fight and they both get suspended for 5 days- just had a fight the other day which is very rare at my school; it can also get expunged from your record if you have good behavior for 2 years), 3 is true, 4 ehhh maybe in an inner city where everything is corrupt, 5 is false at my schools but is technically illegal (my teachers do not really care about allergy meds, Tylenol, etc as long as you aren't sharing it with everyone and its not Oxycontin), 6 is false, but may be true in other areas (I know people that are failing english and they are taking PLATO courses to still get credit), 7 is false (done worse and nothing has happened, I live in the suburbs of forsyth county), 8 is false (I use to hug my teachers in kindergarten/1st grade and have seen it happen recently). But I'm sure there has been a case to fit every scenario, just not anywhere around here to my knowledge.

I went to a private school. Not going to say which one, but I got busted with my hunting rifle in my vehicle one day during deer season in my junior (I think) year (~2003). They called me in the office and sent me home for the day. They knew me very well and knew that I would not do anything crazy with it and that I hunted almost every morning before school. Im glad it turned out that way and they did not notify the police cause I could have been in some deep $#!^.

I gradutated HS in 2000. I carried a 3 blade old timer pocket knife every day. Some of the teachers knew, they didnt care because they new it was a tool, not a weapon. I hunted before and after school. I had a shotgun behind the seat of my truck. I came to school wearing camo and left wearing camo. It was hunting season, Im sure the teachers knew, they arent dumb.

As far as bringing a gun to school, i lived in the sticks and went to school there to. I knew 3 or 4 trucks that had shotguns in the back seats all the time pretty sure a few teachers knew that to but no one fliped or gave a big fuse about it. but like i said that was going to school in the sticks

Pretty much, buddy of mine who is substantially younger set of a "worx bomb" basically a big version of the dry ice bomb, no damage will come of it. He was charged with Weapons of Mass Destruction, felony conpsiracy, list goes on... Lawyers say he will be fine but It is just rediculous.

yea i wish i could have grown up in the late 70s early 80s all i've heard from that group is how bad-a$$ everything was and our little town of lexington was booming

as far as guns at school goes if any of us had a gun at school we would have had a swat team come arrest us!! our administration has changed and become a bunch of rich pricks

I think I carried a pocket knife every day since 6th or 7th grade ('92 or so). Never thought anything of it. I think I'd be thrown in jail for that nowadays and my parents charged with child abuse somehow.

wtf happened to minding your own business?
You should see the kids these days... kids get away with too damn much.
Its like the parents send the kids to school for them to get raised there.
I wonder why we hand out medals/awards to everyone not just 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.... everyone feels entitled. I don't.
btw - I graduated highschool in 97 so I got to see the change. maybe it happend at a diff year in your neck of the woods.
