Catch a fish from the pool and take a picture with the lake background. Just seems like it would have have some bad long term results.

Its so all the head-in-their-phones moms and SaltLife t-shirt wearing dads can pretend to provide real life experiences without actually leaving the safe, air-conditioned store.

Plus, it starts the kids off early thinking that they need $400 reels and Yeti coolers and the latest and greatest retail offering to be able to get out an enjoy the wilds.

sadly, 95% of their customer base thinks it's great, and are happy with that being their kid's first (and probably only) fish.

I'm mixed about it.
Grabbing any new interest from kids and increasing the number of "fisherman" has it's financial benefits and keeps public Access open in more places.
However, most people are far to fn stupid to handle themselves in a real outdoor environment and shouldn't be given the false sense of security that they should ever do more than stay and watch TV shows about it.

Face it, the next generation will be fake and plastic. Fake news, virtual reality, alternative facts, cloud based and connected via WiFi. I'm surprised there wasn't a Bluetooth transponder in the fish to tell the kids where to drop their synthetic bait to catch and release their prize fish to collect their participation trophy.
