Our dog Brandy died this morning. She had Mast Cell Cancer, it was @ stage 3 when the tumor on her chin showed up a few months ago. Surgery did not remove it all. She was a stray I found in 2003 @ a regional MSW landfill I was surveying. She was a damn fine watchdog, mother and faithful friend who will be missed and remembered. I let her and BooBear out this morning and Brandy layed down on the deck and apparently passed peacefully. I and my wife who had the day off and slept late did not witness her death we knew was coming. I think Brandy wanted it that way and I'm also glad I did not have to call her at work w the news :(

So sorry to hear that.

We almost lost Blaze Tuesday of last week. Had to make the tough decision of risking surgery, vs. letting go.

Lost Earl, our found red tick yard dog of 10 years two weeks ago, I feel your pain brother!!

In the waiting stages now for our Husky mix Metro ( found as a stray in 2001 lying on Sunday paper in buddies driveway) he's 14ish years old now, real mellow fellow, traveled well, but always looking to go further ( it's the husky way, the horizon is a DESTINATION ! )
He's moving slow these days, and you better be paying attention when he makes noises to go outside cuz he ain't gonna wait much (3am out a dead sleep...grrrr) before he leaves a puddle
We're expecting him to not greet us at the gate one afternoon after work.... He's been a great companion, wish he had more in him!

Sorry for you loss. It is tough to lose a part of the family. We lost two of our labs ( 13 and 14 years old) last fall 5 month apart. took a while to get over the fact they were not waiting on me when I got home. Still miss them.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for everyone's losses. I like dogs more than people. Remember the good times and get a rescue pup to fill the void. You'll never replace an old friend, but it's always great to make a new one.

PICT0054.JPG PICT0039.JPG PICT0036.JPG PICT0057.JPG Thanks everyone, my wife is taking it harder than me and she also appreciates the replies/sypathy, we are glad w did'nt have to put her down. I kinda wish I was with her when she died but I would also have that unpleasant memory in my mind for ever. some more pics.....She's the smaller dog, Boobear is one of her puppies and she misses her too.
