Its fine. Use a floor jack to support it and then a jack stand to keep the front of the tranny from falling to the ground.

You could take a sammi tranny for a hike if you wanted to.
 
Depends on if he's wearing high heels, and a lot of make-up and jewelry. :rolleyes:

No need for a jack really .... it would be much easier and safer, but I have swapped Samurai transmissions just muscling it.

Don't forget to notch the crossmember before pulling it. Otherwise, it'll be a struggle to get it out and back in. If you look at it from underneath, I think you'll see what I mean. I think you've only got to cut about 1/2" off it for clearance. I've never actually dropped one from underneath, I always pull them with the motor.

You can just bend the front of the lip juuust enough to keep from notching it.
