Heres the deal, i got a 80's samurai and im changing it over to toyota drive train. im wanting to run toy springs and was thinking of putting a SAS spring hanger on the front like trail gear or all pro sells and move the shackles to the rear. also set the rear axle up for toy springs as well. just wondering has anyone else did anything like this? and does anyone know of some places selling sami stuff?

lets here what yall got! thanks

oh i forgot to add i was thinking of adding some to the frame, front and rear.

Thatt is a pretty common swap in the sammi world except for the yota springs. I stretched my sammi truggy's frame about 15inches with some 2x4 box steel but I am running a different drive train. Several of the guys on here have stretched their sammi the same way.

To do a shackle reversal with the yota springs you will have to add around 8 or 10 inches to the front of the frame just to get the axle to be in the stock position. I have a samurai in my shop now that was gonna get this swap so he could get rid of the missing links and yj's cause they get hung on everything. They kill your approach angle. But with a little measuring we found that in order to even get the stock wheel base with the yotas and front hanger we would have to add so much frame in the front we wouldn't really gain anything. Now with this said, on this sammi he's running 36s and a very low ride height so If you were to do it and run say 4 or 6 in yotas and a 38 or 39in tire you'd be much better off. Another thing you'll need to find is a 1" offset shackle because the yota perches are around 2" wider than the framerails. Its a fairly simple swap just wasnt the way we wanted to go with this one. Good luck and use all pro's the flex better than the rest.

thanks yall, yes after looking at a friends yoda i think i'd be better off buy sami springs.

ok yall 3in springs, shackles, and some body cut on toy axles what can i clear?
