samurai 1.6l hood clearance

I'm swapping a 1.6 16v into my sami, the hood won't shut, I'm debating on moving motor mounts down, cowl hood, or body lift, what does everyone else do?

You can do a 1" body lift and clear it, use aftermarket motor mounts, or make brackets that move the back of the hood up out of aluminum. Body lift is the cheapest and most common. When you start messing with modifying the mounts, you get into issues with the fan in the fan shroud not lining up.

Body lift would be the way to go. Had the same issue with a 2.0 in my samurai.

I have done a few zuk "big block" swaps and I just put the lift on the front clip , it works fine and doesnt look odd .
