There was a shop on Hwy 16 in Denver a little behind the fire department, don't know if they are still there. There is a shop outside of Mocksville where Hwy 601 and Hwy 801 intersect. They do a lot of work for Ingersald Rand. Don't know if these are close enough for you to check into.
ok guys, heres the deal. I found a guy in Locust NC on 601 that would blast my GPW frame/axles/springs for me - and get this- on a saturday, while I waited, and for $150!! hell yeah. repeat. on a saturday, while I waited, $150. let that sink in. Abrasive Blasting and Cleaning Services, Darrell Eudy, 704-241-6907 He's got a portable setup too, so he could, in a pinch come to you. Cant say how pleased I am. Just under two hours and I was gone and the parts looked as amazing as I expected. Came home and sprayed my epoxy enamel and the neighbors didn't bitch. And the cops didn't show up (amazing in itself...) So, went from gunky junky, nasty to shiny black primer frame looking bitching in the back yard in an afternoon. The OD green gets sprayed next week. Damn, I love people that deliver on promises like this guy did!!
disclaimer, I taped off the inner k
nuckles so that the sealing surfaces wouldn't be damaged, they'll get the wire wheel when I rebuild them...
