Sounds like everyone's wanting to plan another ride talked about maybe heading over to caney fork in sylva. If that works for everyone we can work out the details ... any other suggestions are more than welcome and again anyone and everyone that wants to come is more than welcome

I like the idea of the ride but I heard a little while back that they had closed candy fork or had scraped it and laid down gravel.. one the two I can't remember exactly...

Now im not positive on that but I can double check on it... other than hurricane creek idk

just talked to ryan a few mins ago... i take back what i said above lol... theres also some roads close to hurricane creek that TN is thinkin about opening as ohv trails...

you have to go in on ruff butt rd i think they close the rest of caney fork for the winter

We could take them for some minor rock crawling in Fletcher......

That would be cool! Mitch, Do you know of any other trails out that way? That particular trail wouldnt last us all day, and some of the other rigs might encounter some damage. Its definitely not for the stock rigs. Rocker protection, and under carriage protection are a must.

Ride on 3/05

I'm in for a ride on the 5th. I live in Fletcher - where's the "minor rock crawl". Hcreek is always fun and easy. Never been thru Caney Fork. I am also interested in the trails openng in Eastern TN. We need more place s to ride around here......

I dunno, remember how long we were on the trail in fletcher lol? Some spots are fairly difficult for our mildly modded rigs. I've seen stock trucks do it all the time but only in the dry, if its wet at all you would be really hard pressed to even make it up the entrance without mud tires. And even in the dry they aren't leaving without damage (you will still find parts from my friends nissan hard body).

That being said it could fill up a half day, the challenges running it forward are completely different from running it backwards.

The plus side to it being shorter is that if you break down you are only a 10-20 minute walk to the main road. There is also a small pond/creek crossing i've never seen anyone try......haha.

Disclaimer: It is technically private property I believe, but the owners live in florida and we've been wheeling on it for 6 years atleast. I've seen entire land rover clubs have meets at it and i've never heard of anyone getting in trouble.

I wanna ride with you guys...when do you think you'll decide where you're going? I don't think I've ever heard of the place in Fletcher.

Still thinking of going to caney fork if it is open. Definetly still planning on the 5th of march. Ryan do you think caney fork would still be a good place to go?

I don't know if I can make this one right now guys. I got a few things up in the air. Keep this thread updated though so I know the time & place. I hope to get things settled down & go. My son has bugged me non-stop about going again since the last ride! LOL

You will be disappointed if you go. It's all closed except for about 1/4 mile of Caney which goes to the campsite at the stream. And then the road off Moses creek is open to the lower bald. That's it. Everything else has been tank trapped.

i hadn't been up there in a while. that stinks. that would be just like a dirt road then.

we're almost down to parks now. dang gov. and hippies

Is this place in fletcher behind smileys off of brickyard rd ? Some pretty serious no trespassing signs in there Or you talkin about couch or ? I live in fletcher would love to know a close spot to go

You got that right Ryan!

I'm not gonna be able to make this one. I got sick & then had a bad reaction to the meds they gave me & missed 3 days of work. So now I'm too far behind & too broke to go. Have fun! I look forward to riding with ya'll again.

Im not gona make it, gona work on the chevy this weekend.
