My youngest son Maddox is 14 months old and has to have hernia surgery Friday morning. They say it's a routine surgery but I still don't like the thoughts of him being cut open. It is the most major thing that has happend to my kids so far so it is kinda major for us. I'm just thankful it's nothing worse. This is kinda a petty thing to ask for prayers for but they will still help. Thanks.
 
Are they doing it via the newer laproscopic method?
If so, the incisions really are minor and recovery quite easy. Waaaay better than the old-school giant cut method.

But yeah when it comes to your kids.... you can't be too careful!

^^Must have been well said,I agree too.^^Even when the Dr's are telling you no problem it's all gonna be fine,it's next to impossible not to worry sick.I just went through almost 3 weeks of it in November,so I know.I also know that prayers are strong and it can never hurt to ask for them.Your Son will be in mine!!

Prayers for another one of my little buddies. Take the time that you are waiting for the doc to fix him and think through how you are gonna add another seat!
If things like this are gonna happen, it's best that they happen at an early age, for the thought will vanish from his mind as it's filled with better stuff!
 
Thanks everybody. We sure appreciate the prayers. This is making me more nervous than when I had my own hernia fixed.

lab-From what I understand kids this age can't be done laproscopic. The doc said the incisison will completely vanish in a short couple months and he will be back to his old self in 24 hrs after surgery. Kinda hard to believe but...
 
Prayers sent, for the kid to recover quickly, you to be strong, and the doctor for steady hands.

PRAYING BROTHER,,, KNOW HOW U FILL MY SON HAD DOUBLE HERNIA SURGERY DONE WHEN HE WAS 2 YEARS MAN HE BOUNCED BACK LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED.........HE IS NOW 13 AND YOU CANT EVEN TELL WHERE HE WAS CUT THEY ONLY MADE 2 LITTLE CUTS RIGHT ABOVE HIS GROWNING......AS A PARENT IT STILL UPSETS U TO NO END FOR YOUR KID TO HAVE ANY KIND OF SURGERY .....
 
Where already back home and it's only 10:30 and we had an hour drive home. Every thing went smooth. The surgery itself only took about 15-20 minutes. Yes I was a little worried but it's all over but the short recovery. Thanks to everyone for your prayers. I will up date the recovery.
