Say Goodbye to the Ford Ranger

people give the Ranger alot of flak but IMO it's a pretty decent vehicle for somebody that just wants a little truck for DD, doesn't really need a 'real' truck etc.

We've got a '94 ranger for my work and it has around 250k. Its about as basic as you can get, reg cab, short bed, no cruise, 5 speed, small 4 cyl, etc and it runs like a champ, the oil might get changed once a year but it keeps on going. Im not a ranger guy but this one serves its purpose

I've had a few let's see if I can remember them all 83,85,86,88,98,01 and had a 90 b2 with a efi302 I loved them man they can be some fun trucks nothing is perfect and they had a good base to start a build on imho

I have a 2000 Ranger 2wd, 4cyl 5 speed with 218k and doing good. I have a F350 when I need a real truck. The ranger is a car with a big trunk to me.

I'm a Toyota homer so I'm obligated to give Ford a hard time. The Ranger had a longer run then most without any big changes to it.

We've got the exact same truck here at work. Fun as hell when it's been raining.

probably come out with a more watered down version like chevy did with the S10 to the colorado. no offense to anyone. i always liked rangers, buddy has a 99 2wd with over 300k mi. boy was we rough on that thing junior year. drifts like a champ

I like My ranger. Its a king cab with a bit more leg room. Best I can tell (cause I haven't checked it for sure ) it gets about 20 or better on the road. It's easy to work on and easy to get around in parking spaces etc.
I think fords plan is to move the ranger crowd into the basic F 150. I don't see that happening myself. Even if the f150 is as fuel efficient ,it is full size and some people want a smaller, less expensive truck. think this is a bad move for Ford.

Dumb move. I'm not a Ford guy, but you gotta think having a smaller truck is a good idea. GM shot themselves in the foot with the Colorado/Canyon, looks like Ford is going to do the same.

GM drives me nuts, take a good small truck that can be optioned with a good gas mileage engine and replace it with a truck that is't quite as big as a full size and gets worse gas mileage than one.

R.I.P. Ford Ranger
