SBC chevy starter swap ?

Ive got an old 307 chevy that has a sa-l-o-o-w starter on it. Ive also got a complete 5.7 TBI unit thats taking up space in the shop. Will the nice, new starter from the 93 TBI bolt up to the old 60's 307 block /flywheel? It would be soooo cool if it did! Anybody know for sure before I go through all that trouble (as the older motor isnt here at home).

i doubt it. i ran in to this when i swapped my old 350 for my new 350 with 700r4. you should have the smaller 153-tooth flywheel on the old chevy and a 168-tooth on the newer tbi motor. the starters are designed differently and will not bolt up.
