So weather looks like crap for camping so we are heading to the beach where it still might be crap but whatever. Thinking about getting a charter down on myrtle since I've seen alot of nice cobia and Spanish being caught right now. Weather might make them turn off but Ill give it a shot. Who's been and had a good experience probably just going for a half day trip. Gf got sea sick last time don't think I could talk her into an 8 hour trip

Throttle Fest is going on down there right now. I've been hearing the traffic all day going by my shop.

This time of year is great for black drum, spottail and flounder. If you do stay inshore these are what to go after and are easy to catch.

I know it's not myrtle, but if you ever find yourself in Charleston. Look up Holy City charters or Affinity Charters. Ask for Captain John Fuss. Thank me later......

Well gf won't get on a boat with weather coming in so guess we'll just hangout and pier fish. Also used that as an excuse to finally clean up all my saltwater fishing stuff and buy a couple new boxes and get it all organized

I'm always looking for an excuse to go somewhere new.

When we went to Hilton head as a family when I was younger we booked 2-3 trips a year with the same captain i don't know if he was the best but we always did good and had a good time

The pier right there near the Bowery has a nice restaurant in it. Like Craft Beer? There is a nice place right off the ocean called Atlas Tap room or Atlas ale house I forget which. Has decent food and about 20 or 30 taps. I go there every time I hit Myrtle.

Ask a real question who doesn't like beer. Hahaha I'm not even sure where we are staying at so that will play into what we do but im easy to make happy

Last time i went I stayed at the Aqua Beach Inn. Right downtown and not too pricey and the rooms were decent. I'd like to go back there and fish the pier there some day. I've never fished off a pier or beach but have done the boat thing. All my fishing has been in private ponds for Bass.

I like pier fishing its not hard to catch some bottom fish and have fun. If you want to catch some of the bigger game fish then it gets more complicated and time consuming. We always make friends with the locals and they help us out and we give them anything we catch that they want... well besides sheepshead and flounder. We've never tryed to catch anything else. Heck you can rent a pole for 8 bucks second one is usually cheaper 10 bucks to fish a person and 10 in bait good way to hangout

I wish I could go. I'm on vacation until after Memorial Day but I have to take care of the honey do list. Putting in 700 sqft of local Red Oak hardwood flooring starting tomorrow.

If you're still looking for a place check out Avista Resort in N Myrtle. They're usually pretty cheap and very nice for the price. Plus they're within walking distance to some good restaurants and bars. I like duffys for one. I also see a lot of surf fishing going on right in front of the resort every time I've been. Talked to a few of them and people always seem to bee doing well.

Man, I wish I could still keep them 14". You obviously know how that works! I hate throwing back a fatty that's just short.

Not sure why but I always had more luck surf fishing for them instead of pier. Though the best way when I lived in the eastern part of the state was flounder gigging on the Neuse.
Hell idk what im doing I was just hanging out having fun. If I spent more time on the coast I would spend more time learning how to fish for them. In all honesty I caught it by luck, I was trying to catch anything that would bite.
