It looks like I might be headed to SC to bring home a travel trailer, I will be getting a bill of sale and a title, does SC require a notarized seller signature?

Also, this will be my first time towing a camper, it is a 25'. I have a brake controller and a Ram 2500, trailer is listed at 4,500lbs. I don't imagine my 5.9l gasser is going to break any speed records, safe assumption that a sensible driver can make due without a WD hitch?

Going to be doing the bill of sale and insurance, but not plates gamble without a blocker vehicle, wish me luck!

No on the notarized signature here in SC for cars I would assume the same on campers. I would check the title. It will say if the sellers signature is to be notarized.

We sold our SC camper to a NC resident. They had some form that had to be notarized due to it coming into NC. I don't remember what it was off the top of my head. But as Ghost said, SC car sale if you have the title you just sign it over. No worry for the WD hitch.

Spoke to the NC DMV today, they told me all that is required is a completed SC title and all additional notary stamps will be added when I apply for a title. Now we just need to see if that all actually holds true when I am standing at a counter, 250 miles from a signature that I can no longer get notarized.

Yeah, maybe the buyers of our camper weren't on NC4x4 and couldn't have the wealth of answers everyone provides right or wrong. They may have just been over cautious. It may have been just a bill of sale to protect them. However i now remember the Sc bank they went to to try to get notarization before we met said it wasn't needed. Not much help from me .....

@No fries , no worries, I am just keeping the info current for the next guy (who maybe me with the way my luck and memory is going these days).

Will update the thread when everything is done and final with any unexpected hoops the DMV throws my way.

Unless you have my luck. Have a few sc titles never transfered. Always assumed sc didnt need notarized since had never seen one. Til i tried to take in a scrambler title issued in 91. It needs notarized. Now i have to travel back into the armpit of hell aka columbia for one little stamp damnit
