A handful of times lately, I have bought something from Amazon, and either in the package, or via mail a few days later, get an offer for a gift card for submitting a review.

I have always assumed they were a scam of some sort, and the amount was never enough to waste a stamp on.

Today I got one, for a $50 dollar gift card on a $65 item. You have to write a review, good or bad, and after it is published, email a link to the review to them (address on this one is after_salesXXXXXX@outlook.com). They at least got the sales info (item, my purchase, my address) from amazon, so maybe some legitimacy to it.

So....scam or not?

Some people get free stuff sent to them in exchange for doing reviews on the items. My ex gf did that stuff all the time. Odd thing was, it was random stuff sometimes.

Welp, I took my chances...

It was for real. Got a $50 gift card in email today from the seller. Just entered the redemption code on amazon and it is good.

Lucky it didn't hit my spam folder....the email was a mix of chinese characters and Frankengrish.

Leave a good good google review on a bar restaurant and get free beer and food next visit.
Outside of that, is 99% bullshit.
If a company is not making money off of you or your opinion, you ain't shit to them.
