Been listening to fire dispatch and lee county sheriff this afternoon. Lots going on in lee county...trees down all over, roads flooded, Nat'l Guard evacing a mobile home park...can only imagine how bad it is east and south of here.

How's everybody holding out?

no power since lunch time here in Chatham, no timeframe on when it will be back on. Just got a call from code red asking all county residents to stay inside due to downed trees and flooding.

Fayetteville got a curfew from 7 to 7. They've had to rescue over 50 people from the roofs of cars. I'm in a high spot of Cumberland county so I'll be ok, but lots of roads are impassable. Power was out from 10am til 5. It's been flickering since.

Fayetteville airport is reporting 15" or rain so far and an hour ago there were sustained 20-40 mph winds gusting to 60.

I live in New Bern. It's been raining off and on all day...a little wind...power hasn't even flickered. I'm grateful that we've been lucky so far.

Just got power back....no internet since yesterday...just had 1x on the cell phone, no data except for a sporadic email or notification coming thru.

DSLAM and phone switch are just a few hundred feet from our house....they finally put a generator on it late this afternoon, but only powered the phone circuits, not the DSL side.

CP&L called late today, recording gave a 800 number to call to check status, said to call after 7pm. Finally called in about 9pm, said we would be restored at 11:45pm Thursday. Less than 5 minutes later, lights came on.

Made good use of the motorhome yesterday and today...beats sitting around a dark house. Did fire up the MEP-003 (10k Diesel) at first, but blew a fuel line after maybe 10 minutes running.

We were in St Matthews yesterday for about four hours, rained like hell and the wind about blew us away.Trees were down everywhere and we were in a 2wd diesel truck.I can imagine how bad it was closer to the coast. We went for a long time on 26 and didn't pass anybody I was beginning to wonder if they had shut the int down.
