scouts soa on 44044's in the rear and rs on s2 hd front's wb 103" should fit 36's easy. ive got a set of rusted up s2 d44's (4.10's) in it now, 345 t19 wide(6.32 first gear) and twined dana20.

question

do i take the time to clean up, hystear, disk the rear and what not with the 44's or do i go find me a 60/44 combo to put under it.

if i opt for the combo, whats a good donor vehical. keepin in mind that ive gotta go high steer.

well in order to hysteer the front you will need chevy or ford flat top knuckles for it... so it mainly depends on whether you like the width or want it wider, and also if youre plannin to go any bigger with it.... if you like the scout width (60" wms) then get flat top knuckles and set them up for high steer... if you want to go wider, get a set of axles out of a chevy 3/4 or 1 ton truck...

i like the width, but i think that im gonna be pushin that rear 44 with th 36's-38's im gonna run. i dont have the funds to narrow a 60 so i figure i best go with full width 1,3/4 tons. couldn't i find a donar truck that has a 60/44 14b/44 combo that has disk fronts and the flat tops?? just pull the axles out and slid them under my scout. then set up the steering from there? it would beat mismatchin parts to get my scout front end right.

Run an EB 9".

the 9" would deff work for you if you wanted to go that way...

but if you want to go fullwidth the best thing for you to get axles out of would prob be a 73-76 chevy iirc.... it would have d44 front flat top, and then get a 60 rear to match it... but unless it has previously been done, you will haveta have the pass side knuckle machined, drilled, and tapped for hysteer

I have a set of Jeep J-20 8-lug rears, D60(drum)/D44(disc), 3.73 gears, 63"wms, for $500.
I also have all the parts to build high steer, including machined flat-tops.
The Jeep D44 was originally spring under, but we can fix that, too.

ncjeepers, i may have to get with u on the high steer stuff, i am workin on a late 70's early 80's f-250, that will come pretty cheap. what side is the dif on an old f250?
