Scout Dana 300...or 20?

I have a transfer case I am trying to ID.
ITs from a Scout II (1978- 1980, don't know)

I have seen A dANA 20 from a Scout in a picture, and mine has that same shifter, which isn't like any Jeep dana 20 shifter.
It resembles a Jeep Dana 300 shifter. And everyone knows a Jeep (80-86) Dana 300 has a round mount pattern, but a Scout version has the same "Texas" pattern as a Dana20.
So.... how else to tell a Scout 20 from a 300?
Tailhousing? Are the Scout 300 tails aluminum(like Jeeps) versus cast iron?
Any other distinguishing features?
I will take a pic tonight and post a link

The Scout Dana 300 has the same aluminum front bearing retainer (shifter bracket) as the Jeep Dana 300. The rear output housing is also aluminum. One key point to note is the fact that the input gear (back of transmission) is not the same as the Jeep Dana 300, and the gears are not interchangeable. make sure you get the input gear along with the transfer case. If your transfer case is not a 1980, its not a Dana 300. Post a pic and I can tell you for sure.

20 OR 300

YA LOOK AT THE PICS ON THEIR SIGHT?
That 300 pictured, has a shifter just like the Dna 20 I saw elsewhere

Thats just it... I DONT know the year, and it looks like a Dana 20 from a Scout has a similar aluminum retainer\bracket.... or does it?

Can't tell much from that picture at all, but would guess it to be a 20. Here are 4 pics of a Scout 300 that I set up for a Jeep, and sold a few years ago. NOTE: that the shifter linkage is homebrew, and the rear output housing is the Jeep Dana 300 style which points the speedometer drive toward the driver side. The original Scout rear housing pointed the speedometer drive toward the passenger side. Again, if it's a 300, and you don't have the input gear, it's about worthless.
