Seam sealer

Should be able to get it at any Carquest/Napa or anywhere else that sells QUALITY autobody and paint supplies.

should be able to get it in a caulk tube and /or a can to spread with a putty blade. white or black

basically yes

Latex caulk that you would use for a house is water based, just like house paint, not good for metal.

Automotive will flow and adhere better.

How flexable is it once it dries. I've caulked my lexan windshield in but I still have a leak somewhere at the top. Was wondering how easy it would be to fill in the gap? (Sorry to hijack.)

I repair water leaks in cars for a living, and I use 3M Body Seam sealer to repair seam skips and gaps.
It comes in a caulking-type tube, and I generally use a latex glove and my finger to spread it around. I suppose you could use a brush or other spreading tool.
It says you can paint over it in about 40 minutes. Stays flexible.

Some other stuff I've been considering is Fusor. They make several seam sealers, including a self-leveling version.
I think Fusor is what most OEM's use. It's nice stuff. I just have to find out who sells it around here.

But the 3M won't do you wrong. I've used it for years.

Permatex makes a flowable silicone windshield sealer. If you can get it close to the leak, it will flow to it and seal it, as long as it isn't too big.

Yep

I was planning on getting the 3M stuff. I have no complaints about their products (except price $$$). I'll keep an eye out for the FUSOR.

I used the 3M stuff Pacfanweb mentioned for my K5 tub. GOOD stuff!

You can get the 3M stuff at Napa?

Carquest

Carquest I think sells the 3M stuff around me. I've bought the Weld Through Primer form them before.

I buy all my supplies at Carquest. I consume this stuff like crazy. I'm in Carquest buying stuff at least once a month.

Don't know about NAPA, but I've never priced anything there that I couldn't find cheaper somewhere else.
