I was driving home from work yesterday and the seatbelt released itself going down the road, I thought to myself, no big deal, probably operator error and I did not get it to click. Re-buckled and a few seconds later-- the same thing. Got home and saw the red release button was stuck in the release (down) position. Sprayed PB blaster in and let it soak in, still no luck. Sprayed again and waited, still stuck. Took a pocket knife and wiggled it up and the entire assembly sprang up. Ok so now I can buckle but because the assembly is up too far, it is a knuckle buster. Should I hammer it back into position and risk breaking it or leave it be? Invest in a new seat belt?

You should be able to buy just the female end from the dealer. If the car is old enough you may only get one color choice though. I wouldn't try to rig it.

I know Honda will replace seat belts for free since they are safety items, you might want to try your local dealer. The driver's side belt was fraying bad on my DD, called Honda of Concord and they swapped it out in a few minutes....correct color & everything. You just got to stick to your guns & say 'NO' on all their up-sales (balance your tires, oil changes, etc.). Worth a shot I would think, if they won't replace it you can always buy one!
