I know this is a ling shot... I have had Duke Energy stock for many years and they had to split some companies due to gov't regulations so part of my stock went to Enbridge through Computershare. I have less than $1000 in it but it's in Canada and they are IMPOSSIBLE to deal with to try to just sell and liquidate my account. I've tried several times and it is now even harder to break through their process. My lawyer said he had a lot of trouble with them and also my investyment manager noticably cringed when I told him it was through Computershare.
Has anyone had any dealings with these organizations with any success? I want to sell my shares and just cash in to get away from them.

Yep, had same troubles with them. Enbridge and I think it was RBC.

Literally had to send the same stuff several times. Fax, mail, certified mail, etc....they "didn't receive" it time after time. Added a couple of *years* to closing an estate.

Good luck.

UPDATE! I found out that they will never just cash out your stock but a broker can get it transferred fairly easily which is what I did. My investment guy was able to get it transferred last week after I did the footwork. At least its somewhere where it can do some good now.
