Selling a Title

I would think that a part including the VIN plate would be a heck of a lot more valuable.
Plus then there is less question of legality - title comes with "parts car"... maybe the "parts are a chunk of frame and a door handle...

It's title fraud.

The title documents ownership of a vehicle, not the other way around.

I talked with our local DMV officer a few years ago about doing a tub swap on a Jeep so far as to how much could swap/keep and not have title issues. His answer was 1 sq. ft. of the firewall surrounding he VIN tag.

Now, the next DMV guy that looks at it might throw you under the jail for that.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe nc figures the vin is still good as long as there's 50% of the original vehicle left. I was searching for something on legality of a cab swap on my truggy and stumbled upon that a few years ago

Don't sell the title, sell historical documents and a vin plate. What the new owner does with them is of no concern to you.

Sent while I should have been doing something constructive...

this is what they do over on Kill Billet for rat rods they have tons of them on there
