Looking for ideas or places to take the family camping. I'd like to have electric and maybe a bath house in an enjoyable location to take the family camping.

We have a big tent and young kids. Just wanting to get out and enjoy we we live every couple of weekends.

Not really Asheville but we take the family tent camping at Ashe Grove campground in Brevard once a year. Tent sites are wooded and spaced out so you're not looking at everyone else, the bath house gets a thumbs up from the wife and it's a quiet family atmosphere.
About an hours drive to Asheville if you want to see the sights there.

Here's the big tent squeezed in:

That's right down my alley. Anywhere within 2 hrs of Asheville is fine.

I think the campground at Curtis Creek just north of Old Fort has electric. Best car camping around, but I'm always further up the road on the free sites with no power/no water.

headed to that area this weekend for the first time , Where to eat, what to do? We will be at black mtn

The camp ground on the lake only books the RV hookup sites and the cabins all the primitive tent spots are first come first serve. We are going out there next Friday morning. There is quite a few places and usually one or two are always open besides the holiday weekends

I'm thinking it's either this or Tsali.

Won't be able to roll out till about 4 on Friday from asheville. I'll be pissed if I arrive to sold out campground at 6:30. :kaioken:

Take food. Hang out by the creek and hike in the woods. No need to do anything else.
