Why is my sent folder always empty?

I'm not positive if this is how you change it permanently but if you're sending a new PM, there are several check boxes at the very bottom (below 'send message') and one says "Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder."

There's also a global setting here: http://www.nc4x4.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions, at the bottom of the Private Messaging section -- "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default"
