Trying to get air fox 2.0 16" travel air shocks set up for the front of my new buggy. I just need to get ideas for how much shock oil and nitrogen to put in them. It is all yota drivetrain so not very heavy, I am guessing less than 2500 lbs total weight. Just a guess but the front should weigh about 1500 lbs or less. Its going to have yota axles, so i am thinking about 225 lbs at each front corner of unsprung weight, and 500 lbs of sprung weight on each front corner. Is anyone running a setup like this, and how much shock oil and nitrogen did you use? Thanks Jon

Start with lots of oil and not much nitrogen.

If you get ambitious, tear down the shock to confirm shim packs, we have gotten them wrongly valved from the factory.

Complete stab in the dark - maybe start out 80/40 in the valving, 90/30 may be better

375 cc oil 150psi nitrogen, add nitrogen to get desired ride hight, maybe 25 psi at a time. Add 15-25cc oil if it bottoms out too easily.

They take alot of time and trial and error to set up, just take your time and make good notes

Before I read your post I already set them up. I did not mess with the factory valveing, but ended up with 350cc of oil, and 160 psi of nitrogen. Is it correct that the max capacity of oil is 400cc. I will eventually add a little more oil, later on, and I figured I would start a little high on the nitrogen, because I can always take it out later on.

my shocks have 16" of travel and the factory cc's of fluid is 350cc . thats what they said on the phone. just call the manufacturer and speak to someone in tech.

you need one of them toyota tercels, man! go any where! seriously, though, get that buggy drivin around, let them things settle, ill be shure to bring a fresh n2 tank on the trip, in case you need some adjusmants. if you get a chance, btw, chech out the 4 link calculater on line, i m thinking you may want to make some control arm angle adjustments if your front still unloads like sammie eric. either way, im video taping your m@m buggy shenanigans this trip!
