James, I'm guessing there wasn't enough trail pre running and the guides spent a lot of time "lost":)

Heading up in a couple of weeks to continue the mapping and marking of trails. Hope it helps the next group of folks.

I have heard that most every one had a good time. Being lost ain't so bad, as long as you get home for dinner on time...

Insane amount of crisscrossed trails - and I heard something about the owner NOT wanting them marked up? Will see if I can get any more clarification on this but they are hard to find your way around other than up or down.

Up leads away from campground and down will take you back eventually...

Little Tellico (designated with LT on the tree) has a parallel trail about 20 yards to the right for the BIG BOYS. Nasty uphill rock garden, much like those you would have seen over at Crackers Neck.

Kevin Cox made it with 2 winch pulls... I think his name is Mark Hall (Adrienne's hubby) took his up there with a few winch pulls and broken rear dshaft.

Big Orange CJ on 44s had all sorts of problems (tires were NOT giving him any grip, too new, even at 5ish psi they were not conforming, just bouncing off the rocks)

I know Larry Smith gave it HECK and backed out of it down on the bottom...

Tube Buggy (blue, made it 30ish yards and backed down...)

Zuk buggy with 300:1 crawl ratio tried and backed out (remember by this point the entrance is NASTY)...

Not sure who else tried it...

FJCruisers skipped this obstacle, but did ride with us most of Saturday!

Will send pix in a bit...

I tried it, got about 1/3 the way through it and after turning the motor up and spitting 44 size boulders down the hill, decided to say "mercy" and pull cable. Winched about 8 feet through a gigantic hole I had created, and cruised through the rest to the top. That's a great rock garden add a few more like that and I'd be up there quite often. It's nice to have a trail to get "DENIED" on sometimes...lol A big thanks to the guys in the burgandy Yota longbed who showed us where the trail was.

There is another one you might want to try, we had to run cable on Larry's toy to get up it. Very loose. Long ride to get there, of course I couldn't find it again. CYJ Crawler (John Craven) lead us there. Short but fun.
I took the easier side (power stering shot).

Rock Garden

I would have winched to continue, but a rig broke up ahead and we backed out and went elsewhere. Great little trail.

broke

Broke a trackbar on the green CJ on the upper part of LT. Had to do a little battery welding on the trail and proper fix @ camp. A big thanks to the guy from MUDDEVILS (I believe) for use of tools at camp. The repair got me back to Charlotte, yes it was driven.

to that guy- you know who you are, I have some nice pics of you on the rock garden. PM me and I'll send them to you.

hey that was a good ride, i hate that we didnt get to visit the other new rockgarden, its way mean compared to the LT garden but its dry rocks no wet stuff. ill have some video posted up by tomorrow! oh yeah i only broke my rear output on the D20 went home and had it back together in 30 minutes. note to self: actually bring my spare parts with me next time.

That be Kevin Cox aka KC4X4 on here.

I rode all day Friday, LT and Welder. Tried to crawl the water fall, no dice, kinda jumped up it. Had a blast. No riding Saturday for me, had to come home for my daughters graduation.
Took off Sunday morning with a large group. We had a good time through the thorn bushes, slickery mud from the down pours Saturday night. Had one rig break a frame. I went back along with some others and got him welded up and back on the trail.
We found another rock Garden off from an easier one. Four of us tried it, four of us failed. I grenaded my front drive shaft. Had another one but not too far to winch and then 2WD back to camp. Still had a wonderful time.

Thanks for the vids Fever, we had a great time riding with you guys from Appalachian Off Road! You all have well built, capable vehicles and are a fun group to ride with! Hope to do it again. Sorry to see you have to take it back to camp after the Waterfall break but glad to hear you got it fixed without too much problem!

Chip, where is the garden you broke on?

John, now that is a good question! Might want to ask Kenneth, he could tell you better than I can. It's short, uphill, loose rocks and bolders. Everyone who tried it, winched.

Sounds like the one we went up John.
Chip was there a hard line and an easier side ?
Winched Larry up the left(hard) side , I took the easier route.

Yes, the two routes were off of a main trail. we come in, went straight, the easy trail turned up hill, the hard one turned down hill, then a 90 degree right, and there it was. The hard one ended at the top of the easy one. The only way out without turning around was a VERY steep almost a bank hill. And you were back where you started.

we have a guy in the club in a scrambler on 60's and 40's that refuses to pull cable so im sure he'll give it a try. i will now that my winch is on. (didnt have my holes drilled before the southern ride) when is everybody goin back to callalantee?

Ha... finally got my username and password to work on here...

Anyway- I wanted to thank all of CTB for a great ride. I was at the first one 2 years ago and enjoyed them both. Thanks for the great pics too!

James- where's the pics of the AORC rigs on the trail? You gotta spread the love!!

Todd
