I have a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Renegade and want to lift it just a little bit to get some 33x12.5 MT's on it, which way is the best/easiest and least expensive?
Spring over axle will get you a LOT more lift than you need for 33s.
If it's a 92 your springs and shocks are prolly a bit worn out, so you can get a decent small lift/shocks and stick it on there.
Have a better ride, and get your 33s under there. (2" lift you'd need a 1" body lift, 3.5" and up you'll clear 33s fine)
Oh yea, as for the shackle lift, unless you went REAL crazy big, (read bad idea) you'd also need a 1" or so body lift.
If by doing the spring over kit I'll be able to get a bigger tire that fine by me, I just want to be able to get some more meat under the fenders. But with the fenders that come on the renegade package it restricts me a little bit more. What is the best place to get the spring over kit at?
A spring over is moving the spring perches from below the axle to above. It nets about 5" of lift. Spring overs are usually done by someone. They don't usually come in a kit. The "kits" I have seen left a lot to be desired.
If it is the fenders that are bothering the tires, you can remove the fiberglass portion to make it look like an actual Jeep.
Don't go with a shackle any more than 1" longer than stock, if you can help it.
Remember, a shackle that is 4" longer than stock only gets you 2" of lift.
Ok I didn't realize the spring over lift took some fab work. I don't want to remove the fenders casue I like the way that they look. So what is going to be the best way for me to get a little more clearence?
The best way is to order up some lift springs and the just bump stop down to those springs or put a BL on it to keep the fenders in good shape. Longer shackles will hurt your ride and your steering. The lift springs will set you back a little more, but it will be done right and will act much better for you on the road.
