my xj is 89 2 door 4.0 8.8 in rear dana 30 in front 6.5 [2nd hand] rustys lift new u joints and ball joints new wheel bearings and steering stabilizer i aligned it had 33' tires balanced i noticed when i had some one turn the wheel that the trac bar was moving at the axle side so i replaced bushing and replaced stock bolt with a 10mm grade 8 bolt it dosent move now but am still getting a lot of shaking at 40 mpr could the control arm bushings be the prob what is confusing me is that the shaking is not in the steering it seems to be the drivers side some one suggested the front drive shaft is out of balance please help this was going to be my daily driver but cant sale my ranger till this is fixed thanks

put it on jack stands & put in in 4 hi & drive it & have someone look at every thing & also check the drive shafts & you can also take the front drive shaft out & drive it down the road & see if it goes away

How long have you had the XJ? Did you buy it this way, or it just started shaking. If you took it to an alignment shop, they should have checked out the bushings, & checked for any play.
Would assume you don't have a bent wheel, or the balance shop, should have told you. & I'm thinking it shook, before you replaced the wheel bearings?

this is it the jeep drove great but needed some miner repair to front u joints where stock ball joints and so on i traded for a used 6.5 rustys lift that a buddy of mine had on his xj it had a bad wheel baring he had shaking prob i thought this was because of wheel baring so i put the lift on my jeep and it made mine shake to the point i thought that my axle had finally craped out so i wanting to upgrade any ways bought a new dana 30 out of a 96 and put all new joints and bearings in it then i aligned it myself as in tow and pinion angle which i have done to other vehicals a million times with great results in fact i aligned this jeep 3 months before installing the lift and drove great then

Are the control arms adjustable or fixed length? Caster angle may not be set properly, that was one of the issues I had before with my XJ.
