We bought another house for my 24 y/o step-son to live in (no explanation should be needed why ;) )

The well was *BORED* (basically, they used a 24" auger down to bedrock and sleeved with 20" concrete pipe) sometime late '49-early '50 and supported 2 adults & 4 kids over it's life . We've had the well "cleaned" (basically, shocked, lot's of agitation and pumped out x3) and that old well guy deemed it "pretty decent" from a flow perspective (barring bacteria testing).

Specs are:
- (from ground level) 39' deep
- Water level is 19' 6" from ground level
- According my ciphering that should be about 320 gallons capacity
- That volume was refilled (from as close to empty as his pump would do) in about 20 hours = approx. a little less than 1 gal/minute

The cleaner suggested a regular submersible pump (given the water depth was over 10') versus a jet pump. I've had some exposure to jet pumps (mostly negative) and he backed it up with nothing good to say.

Anyone see anything obviously wrong with this?

The goal is to make it as trouble-free as possible for the next 10 years.

I'm good installing a 1/2submersible, but having trouble finding a pitless adapter suitable for the 20" (24" OD) concrete casing radius. I realize I could go cheaper, using a copper elbow (cemented/grouted thru the case), but that will add valuable time on the backside WHEN (not if) the pump needs to come back out...

There was a steel plate over the top of my in-laws well like that. It had a 5 or so inch hole in the middle. I made a split cover that bolted together and bolted down with a hole in the middle for a regular Union to sit on and ran pvc since it was so short so it would be easy to drop into the casing at the bottom. Ymmv. I'll post a drawing if you want one.

Again, I replaced a jet pump with a submersible. So much simpler if you lose prime.

This well has a concrete lid that sits on the casing.
Since the case ends *AT* ground level, planning to add a half-section (15"-18" tall) and put a new concrete cap on it to keep groundwater, creepy-crawlies, and unsuspecting strays out.

If I can find a suitable pitless adapter, that looks like the best way to transition 90*, secure the pump, and be the simplest way to get it all back out quickly?
