Got tired of delaying my wife's Whelping shed due to lumber cost. We decided to reclaim some wood from an old grainery up on the hill.
Siding, roof, glass(stored in barn), door and everything else came from either the barn or grainery. We just took some hammers ,crow bars and went at it.
Floor joist and framing are some ripped 2x10x16's I got last year.
Half will be her yard tools and misc. dog items. The other half are two 4'x4' momma dog areas.

Just about finished now. I'll be adding a window unit after the roof and maybe a small fridge.
Best thing about the build is that it's been a family project.

Hoping to finish a 12x20 building workshop after this. I plan to use some reclaimed lumber on it also.

Just added some pics of barns. Pretty cool how the frame is timber style with heavy lumber. Walls are 4x4 studs on 24" centers. Each 4x4 has a tongue that goes into a morticed 4x6 with a wooden peg.

Hopefully Jody called the trend with lumber coming down.

Nice work! I tore down a barn for lumber back in 1995 or so and it was hard work at 25 years oldā€¦now I would take a year to do that job šŸ˜†

I'm more than double that age so.... Yeah. It's a bit rough with the recent heatwave.
I hope Jody's right because the workshop will be getting treated floor joist and #2 framing.
With this shed I just double stained the non-treated joist and put down plastic. They are 12" off ground anyway so I'm thinking it will out last us.
