shifted JK axle

Your right. What a fool I was to think bent control arms or FUBAR'd brackets could push an axle sideways.

Track bar brackets bent, yes. Control arms or control arm brackets no, unless the track bar or a track bar bracket is also bent. Control arms don't locate the axle laterally, and their brackets don't either. Bent control arms or control arm brackets would only move an axle fore/aft or up/down with respect to the chassis, unless they were bent so badly that there is a drastic change in chassis height, which could then make the track bar change the axle position.

The track bar is one side of a triangle, the axle is another side, and the chassis height (between the axle and chassis) is the other side. If the axle moves, that means something happened to one side of that triangle.

Well, as soon as I took the track bar loose the axle shifted over 1" closer to where it should have been. (pic below)

I went ahead and installed the new RK bombproof track bar and adjusted it to center the axle.

Drives good and I was able to get my steering wheel back centered.

If I still have a tweaked bracket(s) sure can't tell by the way it drives.

Now just to burn in the new LCA brackets when they arrive.:driver:

I am removing the axle tonight and welding new LCA brackets on, will post pics after if not too drunk.

How long was the track bar that you pulled off?

How long was the track bar that you pulled off?

32" so .5" bent.

Sorry on the delayed pics, took the weekend off work so no computer.

I got every thing pulled out, welded new brackets, put it back together. Broke an ABS sensor, replaced that, adjusted the trac bar, rides great.

Turns out BOTH lower brackets were tweaked.
