How do you go about shipping a vehicle? I have never done something like that and don't even know where to start. Any advice would be great.

It depends on where it is being shipped from or to , if it is over seas you have to fine a shipping company and port and get it there plus pay custom's.
from state to state is a little different you just need to find a shipping company .

I had a 1967 F700 Marmon Herington 4x4 shipped from Iowa about 9 years ago from ebay. Just used the ebay services and it was pretty pain free and cost $700. So you might want to see who they use. A buddy of mine just had a 79 350 super cab 4x4 shipped from Cali via a small car hauler company, and according to him, he just called them...told them where to pick it up and where to drop it off...cost him $1500.

Thanks guys. I have a person interested in my Jeep that is Colorado, so I am trying to figure out how it would work to ship it out there.

How does it work with the title and money? Does the shipping compnay deliver the title with the vehicle, or do they stay out of the financial transaction and just deliver the vehicle?

IIRC...it's just showing proof of ownership by the seller to make sure stolen goods aren't being shipped...or something like that. The transfer of paperwork and cash for the sale are up to the agreed terms by the buyer and seller.

Easy now, TV is TV. My room mate is the rookie, Jarrett. And they probably won't bid on it. But Jarrett is always looking for reasons to get out to the west. Though filming for the next season stats this month. He probably won't have time.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Its extremely entertaining watching the show and knowing what really happened. And he gets noticed every where now. Would believe how many girls watch the show. And the face book messages.... I wish i was in his shoes.

Ditto on experiences w/ u-ship or other services... I may be picking up an early bronco from family outside Nashville, need it shipped up here to Merry-land.
If it matters it's relatively stock (33s) but locked f/r, has a hard top but apparently the body mounts were fiber glassed over so I'm not sure if or how it could be attached for the trip.

I've used uship to bring me a car from Texas and a motorcycle from Illinois. Very painless both times.
It seems the big companies will have some high bids but then you get some reasonable ones from the independents.
Just like eBay be sure to read the feedback of the shippers.

So I'm a little confused on this process (U-ship). When you ask for quotes are you actually committed to it? It's already asking for a C #... i just want to find out ballpark what I'm looking at for cost.

There's no charge unless you accept a bid. Then you pay a deposit which is credited to your bill (going off my memory from about a year and a half ago but pretty sure that's what it was).

Another vote for uship. The key to getting low quotes is being flexible on shipping dates and times, the easier it is for someone who already has a paying load to add yours to the mix the better your chance of getting a low bid.

I have also found adding 'I will meet you at the truck stop at Exit XXXX" leads to cheaper bids as well, because it makes the pickup easy for them.
