I need 5 large tires (39"s) shipped from Cali to NC, what suggestions do you guys have? Any clue on cost?

I know I could have them go through UPS, which I'm betting is roughly $80 per tire. I've shipped a few axles through Forward Air for a couple hundred bucks, but never tires of this size. Does Fastenal ship tires store to store?

Do you have any national freight company's near you? We have south western freight up here and I've had products shipped from Texas very reasonably. Just have the tires stacked vertically and banded before shipping. You pay for square footage of footprint more so than weight

From what I've heard Fastenal does fright, so if your shipper could stack them on a pallet that would be your best bet. Really not sure, I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I had a set of 37s with wheels shipped from Washington St through Fed ground. They were stacked on a pallet without being tied down. Came across country without any problems.

A pallet would be best. If you have or can set up an account with a national shipping company, the rates are about 50% of what they would normally charge.

Why not just have them shipped to Johnson Valley and get them while at koh?

That is an option, but I'd prefer to have my hands and eyes on everything.

Good advice, I'll check out a few of the links.

I ended up using Uship.com. I had quotes from $280 to $1100 for a 500lb pallet stacked 5' tall.
