Zack,
You can make 10, 12, 14" shocks fit.. BUT it all depends on how you want to work everything out.
Is it bumpstopped? I think it can be pretty difficult to figure the exact right size shock and takes some thought. You dont want the shock to be the bumpstop under compression and idealy not the limiting strap... (I still need to work on the limiting strap deal).
IF I had it to do over I would order some front shocks w/ bushings at each end. Either make or buy something similar to the JKS upper shock conversion peice. Then either make or buy something similar to the JKS/Teraflex lower BPE.
You should then bumpstop the jeep properly so that the shock isnt bottoming out under compression. And as for limiting when I change out the front with the setup I just listed im goign to incorporate some limiting straps parallel to the shock so that the strap will be the limiting factor and not the shock anymore...
Shock bodies have widely varing sizes so you can either take the quick way out and run some 10, or 12" shocks or spend the time to really get the most compression/droop of of a pair of shocks.. depends on how much time you want to spend.
Same for the rear but its a little easier depending on how you want to move the rear shock mounts....
HTH..
ALSO get some good Monotube shocks I wish I had gone with something rebuildable but Im running the RE monotubes and like them..(Bilstein or Fox next though)
