shock question for tow rig

"Bilstein 5100 Series Offroad Shocks - these shocks are for lifted trucks, Jeeps and pre-runners. They are designed for specific manufactured lift kits utilizing the stock OEM mounting configuration."

VS

"Bilstein Heavy Duty (HD) Shocks - Recommended shock for most applications, designed to work with the springs that came with your vehicle. These shocks provide improved handling and stability without sacrificing ride comfort"

Hope that helps

5100s are available in stock lengths. They're valved slightly more firmly than the HD (yellow bodied) ones.

NP... and I guess I never answered your question, really. I've got 5100s on a 3/4t Cummins. I'm happy with them, but they are probably on the stiff side. It rides great when it's loaded, and a bit like a 7400# sports car when empty. I usually drop the front tires to 60psi and the rears to 30-35 when it's going to be empty for a while.
