shock valving

school me on valving. looking at shocks (regular smooth body shocks) for the TJ. having trouble finding the correct length. all seem to short or too long...

97TJ 3.5", 1"BL, will get the collapsed and extended lengths later. currently at ride height the shock mounts are 17" eye to eye and there's 6.5" between bumpstops.
